June 12 at the Olympic Stadium hosted the opening ceremony of the first European Games "Baku-2015". The opening ceremony began with a concert that went on a parade of athletes of 50 countries that take part in the Games. The parade finished athletes from Azerbaijan, as hosts of the Games.

President of the Organizing Committee of the first European Games Baku 2015, Azerbaijan's First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and President of the European Olympic Committee, Patrick Hickey, spoke at the opening ceremony of the games.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev opened the first European games.

On stage for the execution of mugam Alim Gasimov were shown Navruz, which symbolizes the arrival of spring, "Windy City" - Baku, volcano, Gobustan, a woman (Nargis Nasirzadeh) and a man (Aydemir Aydemirov).
