The official opening ceremony of the XV European Youth Summer Olympic Festival took place on July 21 at the Baku Crystal Hall.

The ceremony was attended by the President, Head of the National Olympic Committee Ilham Aliyev, First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, President of the European Olympic Committees Janes Kosyanjic, heads of delegations of the participating countries and other individuals.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva have met with the President of the European Olympic Committees Janes Kosyancic, the Deputy Prime Minister of Slovakia, who will host the next European Youth Summer Olympic Festival, and the leadership of the European Olympic Committees.

This festival was the first multidisciplinary European event for young athletes aged 14-18.

Under the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the soldiers of the National Guard raised the national flag and raised it. Then the parade of athletes began. Following the parade of athletes, a film about Azerbaijan, which hosts the festival, was shown.

In the end, the flags of all participating countries waved.
