The concept of the musical and artistic evening is based on the date of the proclamation of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic — May 28, 1918. Performed by People’s Artist Alim Gasimov and Honored Artist Fargana Gasimova were the “Karabakh” shikasta, “Sari Gelin” by the rhythm group “Natiq,” the overture from the opera “Koroglu” by the great composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov, as well as dances from the ballets “Seven Beauties” by Gara Garayev, “1001 Nights” by Fikret Amirov, and “Legend of Love” by Arif Melikov. People’s artists Azer, Zulfiyya Khanbabayeva, and Samir Jafarov performed the songs “Ey Vatan,” “Mountains of Shusha,” and “Neftchilar,” which were warmly received by the audience. Performances by People’s Artists Aygun Kazimova, Azer Zeynalov, Emin, Elchin Azizov, Honored Artists Emil Efrasiab, Sabina Babayeva, Tunzale Agayeva, Miri Yusif, and Royana, the group “Rast,” as well as the Separate Exemplary Military Orchestra of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, created an atmosphere of festive celebration.
