105th anniversary of the Republic of Latvia
On November 17 in Baku, in the Baku Crystal Hall, in the Press Center, an official reception was held on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia. The event was attended by a large number of guests, including ambassadors and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in our country, cultural and artistic figures, public figures and media representatives. At the beginning of the event, the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Latvia were performed live by singer Aysel Mamedova.
Ambassador of Latvia Edgars Skuja welcomed the guests of the evening and thanked everyone who took the time to share such an important event with them. Speaking about the history of his country and the path of development it has traversed, the ambassador spoke about the dynamic nature of Azerbaijani-Latvian relations in various fields. Noting that 2024 will mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between our countries, Edgars Skuja emphasized that interaction has risen to the level of strategic cooperation.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov, on behalf of the government of Azerbaijan, congratulated the people of Latvia on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the republic. He emphasized that Azerbaijani-Latvian relations are developing successfully and are of a strategic nature.
The evening continued with a gala dinner, at which the national cuisine of Latvia and Azerbaijan was presented.
